Description of the side eventReparation is a historical debt that must be claimed. The legacy of slavery and colonialism continues to produce structural racism, poverty and violence against Black populations across all continents. Since Durban (2001), the international recognition of these crimes opened a political agenda that the Whiteness Observatory takes as its central mission: to interrogate the privileges that sustain racial inequalities and to build, alongside leaders from North America, Latin America, Europe and Africa, concrete pathways toward restorative justice. Without memory there is no reparation. Without reparation there is no democracy.
