Elisa Walker serves as the Program Director of Special Initiatives at FirstRepair, where she leads the organization’s efforts to bridge the gap between local policy and reparations resources.
In this role, Elisa works directly with municipal reparations task forces and commissions across the country, ensuring these bodies are equipped with the tools and support necessary to achieve tangible community impact.
A champion for the next generation of advocates, Elisa also heads the FirstRepair Student Democracy Program. This initiative focuses on preparing and educating young leaders to carry forward the reparations movement through civic engagement and informed leadership.
Elisa embodies FirstRepair’s “solutions-only” leadership style, she brings a creative, innovative approach to complex problem-solving.
Elisa’s dedication to public service began long before joining FirstRepair, including significant experience working with youth and community leadership . She holds a degree in International Studies from Hampton University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at George Washington University. Her work is driven by a steadfast commitment to making reparations both common sense and common place.
